Bay of Plenty Polytechnic is a NZ government Institute of Technology located in Tauranga, in a healthy and safe environment of one of the most picturesque sites in the world! Located 200 kilometres south-east of Auckland, Tauranga is a popular tourist destination with sub-tropical climate, superb surf beaches and award-winning cafés and restaurants. It offers plenty of excitement at lower living costs than other larger centres in NZ.
In the professional field, Bay of Plenty Polytechnic works closely with local and national industries, some which are engaged with international trade, to provide the right vocational training and skills in demand in the workplace. Our teaching focus is on practical components that prepare students for the real world, which means graduates are employment-ready and have excellent job prospects.
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic has two campuses providing purpose-built training facilities for hands-on vocational programmes such as industrial kitchen, trades workshops and a deep-drop heated swimming pool for diving practices. An instructor assisted gym, modern libraries and computer suites are also part of the infra-structure provided for students.
Our campuses are also home to the University of Waikato in Tauranga where both institutions share and enjoy the nature-friendly Bay of Plenty lifestyle.

An experienced and dedicated international support team assists students with anything from accommodation, home-stay and general cultural adaptation, making it easy for students to settle in and enjoy a laid-back kiwi life experience.
Students need to demonstrate proficiency in English language through English tests such as TOEFL or IELTS.
Students can improve your English language skills prior to starting their chosen programme at the Waikato University Pathways College, which is our local English language school based in Tauranga. Applications and enrolments can be done via Bay of Plenty Polytechnic International Coordinator.
