Te Akau Ki Papamoa School provides high quality educational opportunities for children in years 1-6 (age 5-10). The school is based in the largest suburb of Tauranga, Papamoa, which is a 15 minute drive from Tauranga’s city centre.
Te Akau Ki Papamoa has a strong focus on developing independent learners. This is underpinned by their school philosophy of ‘leading me to lead my learning’. Students are supported on their lifelong learning journey by excellent teaching staff who work with children to improve their research, problem solving and self-directed learning skills all while enhancing their enjoyment of learning.
Te Akau Ki Papamoa School is leading New Zealand in the use of E-Learning to engage students. They are an Apple Distinguished School (the only Primary School acknowledged in New Zealand). They are the first school in New Zealand to fund 1:1 iPad learning for all students.
The school is set amidst two hectares of landscaped grounds, turf surfaced courts, playing fields and playgrounds. Five learning pods have been built to modern learning environment specifications and all rooms are well resourced with modern furniture, specialist ICT learning areas and equipment.
The multipurpose school hall also functions as a gymnasium, while the school also has its very own school radio station.
